The DROPS Metaverse is an initiative by the DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) Asia Chapter to create a forward-looking learning and collaboration platform in Virtual Reality.

Using a VR headset, windows or mac, you can enter a multiplayer 3D environment which has been curated for you to learn all about dropped object hazard prevention. Using a customized avatar, you will be able to navigate various scenarios to experience the impact of dropped objects, identify potential hazards, and learn about the various best practices for prevention. During our regular events, you can use the same avatar to meet with industry professionals just as if you were at a trade show.

Experience the DROPS Metaverse @ IADC HSE Conference

May 23, 2023 - May 24, 2023

Join the IADC HSE & Sustainability Conference

The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) will host the HSE & Sustainability Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event takes place from May 23-24. It offers keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. During the event, participants will explore various topics, such as workforce development, safety culture, Industry 4.0 technologies, ESG, and sustainability. The conference addresses challenges faced by the industry. It aims to prepare for the future and pursue responsible corporate citizenship.

A unique session will cater to university students and young professionals. They will discuss their expectations and experiences in the oil and gas sector. Topics will include their values, working conditions, and work-life balance. A poster session will showcase several paper proposals. These proposals focus on sustainable energy management and transforming waste-derived products into sustainable solutions.

IADC & DROPS Asia

The IADC HSE & Sustainability Conference connects to DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) and the DROPS Metaverse through multiple presentations and exhibits:

  1. Shell Malaysia will show how they blended the DROPS Metaverse into their DROPS training. They use virtual reality to support and ensure their program’s success.
  2. Attendees can delve into the DROPS Metaverse at various exhibitors, such as Stopdrop Tooling, Dropsafe, and Axess Group. They can learn how to integrate it into their own DROPS Training Programs.
  3. Transocean will introduce an innovative system called HaloGuard. It guarantees safe access to the drill floor by controlling personnel entry and automatically recognizing them. The system keeps track of personnel and equipment locations on the drill floor. It tells authorized and unauthorized personnel apart, effectively preventing collisions between human workers and moving machines. HaloGuard greatly enhances control and monitoring of drill floor access. It allows equipment to stop when needed to avoid potential accidents or injuries.

Connect, Collaborate and Create at the IADC HSE & Sustainability Conference

This event offers a great opportunity for professionals in the drilling industry. They can exchange ideas and learn about the latest advancements in safety and sustainability. The conference focuses on engaging discussions and hands-on experiences. It promises to be an invaluable experience for all attendees. By addressing future challenges and exploring innovative solutions, participants will gain a deeper understanding. In addition, they will learn how to achieve responsible corporate citizenship while maintaining a thriving and sustainable business.
