In this edition of the DROPS Wells Forum, the focus is on your questions and connecting you with industry peers.
Some of the questions that may be discussed during this forum include:
- What advanced dropped object prevention strategies are industry leaders adopting, and how can we integrate these into our safety management system to go beyond basic DROPS compliance?
- Which emerging technologies and innovations (e.g. IoT sensors, AI-driven monitoring, drone inspections) are most promising for preventing dropped objects, and how can we leverage these in our drilling operations?
- When planning to work for major operators like Shell, Petronas and Oxy, how do we prepare our operations to be compliant with their requirements and DROPS Recommended Practices?
- At what interval should we conduct third party DROPS Inspections, what should we consider in the scope of work, how do we asses the capabilities of suppliers and their (inspector) personnel?
- How can we benchmark our dropped object prevention performance against industry best practices, and what metrics or tools (such as the DROPS Calculator) can we use to measure our progress and drive continuous improvement?
- How do we tailor DROPS training for on-site drill crew members, maintenance teams, and senior supervisors who each have varying schedules and responsibilities?
The DROPS Wells Forum is open to HSE and Operational professionals in the drilling sector.
