DROPS METAVERSE

The DROPS Metaverse is an initiative by the DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) Asia Chapter to create a forward-looking learning and collaboration platform in Virtual Reality.

Using a VR headset, windows or mac, you can enter a multiplayer 3D environment which has been curated for you to learn all about dropped object hazard prevention. DROPS AI Chat

Welcome to the DROPS Knowledge Assistant

Dropped objects remain one of the most persistent and preventable hazards in high-risk industries such as oil and gas, construction, and heavy engineering. To support safer worksites and reinforce global best practices, we are proud to introduce the DROPS Knowledge Assistant—an AI-powered chatbot trained to help you interact directly with two key reference documents:

These documents have been developed through global industry collaboration and represent the most up-to-date guidance on how to identify, manage, and prevent dropped object hazards. The chatbot allows you to explore both documents using natural language in your language. You can ask questions like:

  • “What is the difference between primary fixing and safety securing?”

  • “ما هي متطلبات إدارة المناطق؟”

  • “独立检查应多久进行一次”

Whether you are an HSE professional, site supervisor, engineer, or front-line crew member, this assistant is designed to help you quickly locate the relevant sections, definitions, checklists, and diagrams from both resources.

The DROPS Recommended Practice outlines the framework for implementing a dropped object prevention scheme, including inspection programs, training standards, and risk assessment requirements. The Reliable Securing Handbook complements this with detailed securing methods, lifecycle hazard considerations, and visual examples of best-practice retention techniques.

This tool is especially useful for toolbox talks, audits, training sessions, or operational planning. It eliminates the need to manually search lengthy PDFs, and instead gives you targeted information based on your specific question.

We encourage you to explore the content actively. This chatbot is not just a lookup tool—it’s a digital companion for making worksites safer, more compliant, and better informed.

If you need further help, or wish to contribute suggestions, please reach out to joachim@drops.asia.
