The DROPS Metaverse is an initiative by the DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) Asia Chapter to create a forward-looking learning and collaboration platform in Virtual Reality.
Using a VR headset, windows or mac, you can enter a multiplayer 3D environment which has been curated for you to learn all about dropped object hazard prevention. Using a customized avatar, you will be able to navigate various scenarios to experience the impact of dropped objects, identify potential hazards, and learn about the various best practices for prevention. During our regular events, you can use the same avatar to meet with industry professionals just as if you were at a trade show.

Since 1996, the SPE/IADC Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference and Exhibition has established itself as the region’s leading drilling event. Rotating biennially within Asia Pacific, it provides the opportunity for operators, suppliers, contractors, and service company professionals to meet, discuss, evaluate, and share ideas to advance drilling operations, promote solutions to common problems, and improve overall efficiency.
APDT 2024 will bring together industry leaders, drilling subject matter experts and energy companies to share new perspectives and discuss technological advancements through a comprehensive two-day conference programme with stimulating plenary, panel, special/project case study and multidisciplinary technical sessions.
The DROPS Asia Chapter wll be showcasing the DROPS Metaverse during one of the panel sessions on the second day.
